Half Full or Half Empty?

At some point just after 10am this morning I was exactly half way through my treatment. The mid-point occurred when I had completed 16 1/2 doses.

From now on I’m closer to the end than the beginning.

Not that the end is in sight quite just yet. I’ve only just started the fourth week and there are still over three to go.

However, lying in the treatment table this morning it did occur to me that the time is rushing by rather quickly. The daily routine is established and the treatments come and go with predictable regularity. That’s self-evident of course because they are all given to an appointment.

Certainly having an appointment at the same time every day helps to get into – and maintain – a routine. It’s also easier to make personal and professional arrangements knowing that the treatments are all at the same time of the day (except for a couple of Mondays when I have switched from AM to PM to allow me to get back from weekends away).

The last few days have been very straightforward. The drive to the centre has been uneventful – this morning took only 28 minutes, the quickest so far I think – and I have arrived in good time with just the right amount of bladder fill. I’ve not had to wait and the treatment has been delivered a few minutes ahead of the scheduled time.

No doubt there will be a few unforeseen challenges yet but as each day comes and goes there’s one less potential for problems and side effects.
